Mr. Durbin's legal practice is currently devoted to representing employees and protecting their legal rights under various federal and state laws. He advises and assists employees in taking appropriate legal actions, including filing for and recovering unemployment compensation benefits, filing appropriate complaints with administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission ("EEOC"), and pursuing litigation in federal and state courts. Since 1993, Mr. Durbin has handled a wide variety of employment-related matters for employees, including claims of discrimination, retaliation, harassment, hostile work environment, and wrongful discharge. Prior to representing employees, Mr. Durbin had extensive labor and employment experience with major business corporations in the medical insurance industry and the oil and gas service industry. Education Mr. Durbin received a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) in psychology and political science from the University of Oklahoma. As an undergraduate, he was in the Honors Program, the Freshman Honor Society, and the Political Science Honor Society, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He received his Juris Doctorate (J.D) from the University of Texas, where he received the Am.Jur. Award for legal research, brief writing, and oral argument. Mr. Durbin subsequently received a Master of Business Administration (with High Honors) from Oklahoma City University, and earned the Faculty Award for the outstanding student in the M.B.A. program. In addition, he has also received the professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (C.L.U.) from The American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Teaching Experience Mr. Durbin has taught business law courses as an adjunct professor in the subject areas of contracts, real estate, commercial law, business torts, and securities. He was also an instructor for LSAT preparation courses in Oklahoma City, Stillwater, and Norman.
